My name is Tommy Stern, and I’m an “ideas guy.” I first created the Reflux Guard© Mattress Wedge out of a personal need to desperately end my long suffering from Acid Reflux. I designed and manufactured the first Reflux Guard© for myself, and it profoundly impacted my life. For the first time in a very long time, I had relief of my severe reflux, and I was able to get a restful night’s sleep. I knew that I wasn’t alone in my suffering. For these reasons, I was compelled to share my invention with the world.
First and foremost, I see myself as an inventor. My first invention was a retractable syringe designed to prevent people from accidentally sticking themselves with contaminated needles, and needlessly contracting HIV or other blood borne pathogens. I made this discovery in 1987, and subsequently received a patent (#4,900,311) for it. Eventually in 2000, President Clinton signed a law requiring the use of safer needle stick devices.
As an inventor, I focus on how I can improve other people’s lives. Some of the products I invented became game changers and have saved many lives! Currently I am focused on marketing this latest invention – The Reflux Guard© Mattress Wedge. I’m very proud of it. My mission is to share the great benefits I received from my mattress bed wedge, and to publicize my product in order to help others enjoy the same benefits.
